What Youll Do Reporting to the Senior Manager of Sourcing and Procurement, the Sourcing Analyst will perform spend analysis, develop and manage relationships with business stakeholders, lead sourcing events (RFI/RFP/RFQ) on behalf of stakeholders to ensure optimal vendor/supplier selection based on a consistent process, and will manage supplier/vendor relationships to ensure Avalaras requirements are met. What Your Responsibilities Will Be Analyze historical spend data and define short- and long-term spend optimization opportunities Promote the value of Sourcing and early Procurement engagement with stakeholders Develop a roadmap of sourcing events based on spend analysis, stakeholder demand, and priorities / impact Build RFx material for each event (including spec development, selection criteria, supplier list) Evaluate bids and proposals from vendors in accordance with established policies Negotiate favorable pricing, payment, and other contractual terms with vendors Manage key supplier relationships and develop preferred vendor sources for frequently used goods or services Maintain appropriate supporting documentation for all sourcing events You will Collaborate with the Senior Manager of Sourcing and Procurement in identifying and implementing process improvements, assist with ad hoc projects Demonstrate a continuous improvement mindset; analyze process using data and propose improvements that will result in efficiency, customer satisfaction, and cost savings You will be reporting to the Senior Manager for Sourcing and Procurement What Youll Need to be Successful 5+ years of experience in a sourcing related role, supporting global operations experience in a technology company desirable Ability to successfully, virtually, across time zones, and with global stakeholders Thorough understanding of Spend Analysis, Sourcing, and Source-to-Pay principles, processes, and procedures Experience differentiating cost savings and cost avoidance, and experience calculating both as applicable Experience successfully supporting senior level business stakeholders to build and run sourcing events, including managing internal expectations, setting and meeting timelines, and negotiating with suppliers Hands-on experience with structured Sourcing Methodology (e.g. A.T. Kearney 7 Step Process) Experienced in planning different strategies based on business and market conditions Hands on experience using Sourcing Tools Experience with vendor/supplier management including vendor/supplier risk management Hands-on experience with Jira and/or ServiceNow for Project Intake and workflow through Familiarity with the application of internal controls in a purchasing context Demonstrated understanding of how to use data to improve process Proficient using PowerBI, Excel, Word, and other Microsoft Office Experience defining spend categories and subcategorie
