Job Description
Qualification : Minimum 10 Years of Experience Experience : Any Master Degree with the specialization of Supply chain management/Logistics and related legislations. A Logistics Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing and coordinating the movement of goods, materials, and resources within an organization or supply chain. The job role for a Logistics Manager typically includes a variety of responsibilities, which may vary depending on the specific industry and company. Key Responsibilities : Must Have: Planning and Coordination: Develop and implement logistics strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure efficient and cost-effective transportation and distribution of goods. Coordinate and schedule shipments, deliveries, and inventory management activities to meet customer demands and organizational objectives. Collaborate with suppliers, manufacturers, retailers, and other stakeholders to optimize supply chain operations. Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels and oversee inventory control processes to minimize stock outs, excess inventory, and carrying costs. Implement inventory tracking systems and software to accurately track and manage stock movements, storage, and replenishment Transportation and Distribution: Arrange transportation services, including freight forwarding, shipping, and logistics partners, to ensure timely delivery of products to customers. Optimize transportation routes and modes (e.g., road, rail, air, sea) to minimize costs and maximize efficiency. Manage warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping of goods. Cost Management: Develop and manage logistics budgets, forecasts, and cost-saving initiatives to improve profitability and operational efficiency. Negotiate contracts and rates with carriers, vendors, and service providers to achieve cost-effective logistics solutions. Compliance and Risk Management: Making an application of Advance Authorization for related products with Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) manually and through online portal as per various Foreign Trade Policies and compliances. Making an application of Bond Cancelation with Customs Department of respective jurisdiction for fulfilment of Export Obligation for EPCG. Creation & utilization of stock of RodTEP in SAP for various departments and products. Creation & utilization of stock of MEIS in SAP for various departments and products Ensure compliance with local, national, and international regulations and customs requirements related to transportation, trade, and logistics. Mitigate risks associated with supply chain disruptions, security breaches, and other potential threats through proactive planning and risk management strategies. Performance Monitoring and Analysis: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to assess the performance of logistics operations and identify areas for improvement. Analyze data and metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of logistics processes, identify trends, and implement continuous improvement initiatives. Leadership and Team Management: Supervise and lead a team of logistics professionals, including warehouse staff, transportation coordinators, and inventory specialists. Provide guidance, training, and support to team members to foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and high performance Communication and Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate effectively with internal departments, external partners, and stakeholders to ensure alignment and coordination of logistics activities. Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, carriers, vendors, and customers to support business objectives and enhance customer satisfaction. Want to Have: 10 years of experience in logistics, transportation or supply chain management with progressively increasing responsibilities. Strong knowledge of logistics principles, practices, and industry trends. Proficiency in logistics software and technology tools, such as ERP systems, transportation management systems (TMS) and warehouse management systems (WMS). Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
